Michael McShane

Managing Director

Michael joined the drinks industry in the early 2000s, quickly making his mark across various roles at Pernod Ricard and Molson Coors Brewing Company, including Key Accounts and Regional Wholesale Manager. In 2012, he transitioned to the Alchemy group, which at the time was primarily known for its pub operations with a small wholesale division.

Following the establishment of Alchemy Drinks in 2013, Michael took charge of developing a senior management team and a field sales team to drive growth in the wholesale business. Now, from our main distribution hub in Glasgow, he leads a dedicated team, ensuring consistent service across Scotland seven days a week.

Susan Dalziel

Business Operations and Reporting Manager

Susan brings a wealth of experience to Alchemy Drinks, having spent 13 years at Molson Coors Beverage Company, where she honed her skills supporting sales teams and served as a Wholesale Account Manager.

She also dedicated three years to The Ben Charity as a Director. In 2023, Susan joined Alchemy Drinks as our Business Operations and Reporting Manager, where she focuses on driving business improvement initiatives to enhance the service we provide to our customers. Her strategic approach ensures that we continually evolve to meet and exceed client expectations. Susan is all about driving improvement initiatives that elevate our service to the next level. With her keen eye for business operations, she ensures our processes run smoothly, helping us to keep our customers smiling!

Allan Hinton

Head of Procurement

With over 20 years of experience, Allan joined us from Costco, where he excelled as a Trade Coordinator. Joining Alchemy Drinks in January 2024,  Allan initially started as a sales account manager and quickly made his mark.  Allan has a genuine passion for guiding businesses toward their full potential.  An opportunity for Allan to move back in the Procurement function meant he returned to more familiar ground.  His consultative approach ensures that every organisation he partners with receives tailored support that drives sustainable success. Allan believes understanding the distinct needs of each business is key to offering not just effective, but lasting solutions. 



Bal Chung

Warehouse Manager

As our Warehouse Manager, Bal oversees all operations within our bustling distribution centre. Bal has worked in the wholesale distribution business for 9 years initially with Kwik Keg before joining Alchemy Drinks.  Having worked as a driver before moving into supervisory roles he knows first hand what it takes to deliver first class customer service to our customers across Scotland.  As well as overseeing the goods out processes Bal focuses on keeping our fleet of vans ready to go and our team of drivers ready to deliver to our customers when they need us!   



Conor Devlin

Warehouse Operations and Quality Control Manager

Conor joined the drinks industry in 2014 bartending across a few of Glasgow’s most famous institutions (Maggie Mays, Sloans, Oran Mor, The Bungo before joining Alchemy Drinks in November 2022.  Conor quickly became a utility resource gaining knowledge over several functions eventually managing our customer services team.  Conor has a depth of knowledge of our systems and has recently taken on a role supporting our warehouse operations ensuring our processes run smoothly and ensuring high standards of all of our deliveries.



Ewan Davidson

Stock Control and Safety Manager

Ewan has extensive experience in the retail sector, beginning his career as a night shift worker in 1988 before advancing to store management. After a brief period away from the industry, he joined Alchemy Drinks and has since celebrated three impactful years within our team. As the Stock Control Manager, Ewan ensures our inventory is meticulously managed, overseeing the receipt and shipping of goods while upholding health and safety standards. His expertise is essential for maintaining the reliability of our supply chain.



Max Xu

Accountant

Max kicked off his accounting career in 2020 while studying at the University of Glasgow. In 2024, he became Accountant for Alchemy Drinks Wholesale, where he also oversees financial responsibilities for Alchemy Inns and our sister companies. With aspirations to achieve the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) qualification from CIMA, Max is on a mission for professional growth while keeping our financial health in top shape!

Kerri Gallagher

Customer Services & Ledger Manager

Kerri joined the Alchemy Drinks family in February 2022, bringing with her a wealth of experience from the motor trade, where she served as a service advisor for 16 years. Starting her journey in the customer services team, she swiftly transitioned to a procurement role and then credit control. Kerri’s expertise and insights from her previous roles allow her to support various teams. And more recently she has taken on overseeing the Customer Services team.  Her adaptability and knowledge make her an invaluable asset to Alchemy Drinks!



Liz McGarry

Customer Services

Liz has been a dedicated force in the drinks trade since 1997, beginning her career with Matthew Clark Wholesale. After 17 enriching years in various roles, primarily in sales, she joined Alchemy Drinks Wholesale in 2014 as a customer service agent. Liz thrives in the collaborative and vibrant environment at Alchemy, where her extensive industry experience and positive attitude contribute to the success of her team. She is passionate about ensuring customers feel valued and well-supported.




Conor McShane

Customer Services

Conor joined his family business three years ago when he was just fourteen.  Starting initially helping around the warehouse sweeping up, cleaning and helping with orders, more recently Conor has expanded his skills and is now an all-round utility team member.  He still works in the warehouse when needed, but also now man’s our customer services at the weekend as well as helping with cash management and even turns his hand to some digital marketing at times.  Conor has recently left school and is currently studying Financial Services and Data Science at City of Glasgow College while still being a valuable member of the Alchemy team when not at college.

Declan McShane

Customer Services
Declan joined his family business 6 years ago.  He started off by helping around the warehouse sweeping up, cleaning and helping with orders.  In latter years Declan is a regular driver and all round utility team member.  He is currently studying Aeronautical Engineering at Glasgow University but come the weekends Declan is pivotal in ensuring our deliveries get out to our customers and is our newest qualified forklift driver ensuring our warehouse is running at its optimum even at the weekends.

Hana Mohsin

Customer Services

With a rich background in the food and drink industry since 1992, Hana has honed her skills waitressing in numerous restaurants across Glasgow. Transitioning to an office role at RS Trading, she utilised her restaurant expertise to build a robust client list. Now at Alchemy Drinks as a customer service representative, Hana enjoys the supportive camaraderie of her enthusiastic team and embraces the daily challenges that bring excitement to her role. Her dedication to providing excellent service shines through in every interaction!




Jaggy Dhillon

Sales Account Manager

Jaggy’s journey in the retail sector began at an early age, learning the ropes from his brother before they ventured into self-employment in retail and hospitality. With a wealth of experience managing various businesses, he has developed a diverse skill set through roles in insurance, government, and banking. Now at Alchemy Drinks Wholesale, Jaggy leads the charge for the restaurant sector, bringing his multifaceted background and insights to the table. His entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to driving business growth make him a valued asset to our team!




Hannah Cooper

Sales Account Manager

Hannah has been immersed in the hospitality industry since 2010, gaining invaluable experience while working in various bars and restaurants over an impressive eight-year span. After a stint in London with a wholesale fashion company, she returned to Scotland, where she continued to hone her skills as the Digital Customer Manager for another fashion retailer. Fortunately for us, 2023 saw her returning to her roots in hospitality, where she’s now making waves at Alchemy Drinks as a Sales Account Manager. Hannah’s enthusiasm for the industry, paired with her diverse background, allows her to connect with customers and offer innovative solutions that support growth in businesses. 



Stuart McAulay

Sales Account Manager
Stuart began his career in the drinks industry in 2019 where he worked behind the bar in The Millhouse in Stewarton, quickly gaining a keen interest in bartending and a wealth of experience over the next three years. Beginning in 2023 Stuart became an assistant brand manager at Edrington UK where he worked with major brands in the UK such as Laphroaig, Bowmore, Auchentoshan, Maker’s Mark and Sourz. Here he honed his skills in marketing and built on and off trade experiences for partners and bars around the UK. After two years at Edrington, Stuart made the move to become a Sales Account Manager at Alchemy Drinks where he now covers areas in Falkirk. Ayrshire and Dumfries & Galloway. Stuart’s varied experience in the bar and alcohol industries alongside his keen interest and knowledge of the bar trade across the UK makes him well adept to deliver the best experience and growth for all customers.

Patrick Donnachie

Customer Services

Patrick has a varied and practical background. He originally joined the Alchemy team as a driver, quickly proving his dedication and understanding of the business before stepping into his current role. Before Alchemy, Patrick worked as a Photocopier Engineer, developing technical problem-solving skills, and also ran his own marketing company, gaining valuable business experience. His diverse career path helps him connect with customers and support our mission to deliver exceptional products and service.

Katie Mackay

Marketing Executive

Katie has recently joined the Alchemy Team as our Marketing Executive.

Having previous experience as a Social Media Executive for a Digital Marketing agency, Katie created content and managed social media accounts for a variety of clients throughout Scotland. In addition to this creative role, Katie also has a vast amount of knowledge relating to the drinks industry.

Starting in 2019, Katie joined Edrington UK as a customer operations coordinator before quickly moving on to become a demand planner responsible for maintaining stock and managing customer expectations. This knowledge and skill set combined with Katies passion for sharing informative and eye-catching content enables her to help grow and maintain Alchemy’s digital presence. It also enables her to enforce brand marketing strategies and help promote many of our excellent drinks.
